چکیده مقاله:
Abstract Background: Cardiovascular disease and coronary disease is at the top of the main causes of death in developed and developing countries. In many studies have been done in recent years, the role of heart rate recovery (HRR) as a predictor of mortality in patients with efficient factor for coronary artery disease (CAD) and vascular involvement are well known. In this research relationship between HRR and significant CAD has been studied. Materials and methods: This research is a diagnostic study. In this study patients from 2012/15/2to 2013/15/2 due to chest pain were referred to Loghman Hakim hospital were studied. Patients with atypical chest pain and positive exercise test underwent angiography. If the exercise test was negative nuclear scan also requested. If nuclear scan was negative, patients were considered Non-CAD. Patients with positive scan underwent coronary angiography. After exercise test HRR in minutes 1 and 2 was calculated. An independent interventionist who was unaware about ETT results interpreted angiographic results. Results: In this study, a total of 106 patients were studied who 41 patients(38.7%) were female and 65 patients(61.3%)were male.11 patients(10%) had abnormal HRR1 and 8 patients(8%) had abnormal HRR2.25 patients(23.6%)had significant CAD in angiography and 81 patients(76.4%) had non-significant CAD. Conclusion: Positive predictive value of first minute HRR was 83.2% and negative predictive value was 81.8% and for second minute HRR time it was 80.6% and 75% sequentially and p-value was<0.9.It seems that there is no relationship between HRR and CAD and we can’t use HRR to predict significant CAD at least in this time. Keywords: Exercise test, Coronary artery disease, Angiography.

Heart rate variability and heart rate recovery as prognostic factors
BACKGROUND AND AIM Heart rate (HR) can appear static and regular at rest, during exercise or recovery after exercise. However, HR is constantly adjusted due to factors such as breathing, blood pressure control, thermoregulation and the renin-angiotensin system, leading to a more dynamic response that can be quantified using HRV (heart rate variability). HRV is defined as the deviation in time b...
متن کاملAerobic Fitness, Heart Rate Recovery and Heart Rate Recovery Time in Indian School Children.
Data on aerobic fitness and heart rate recovery in children are limited. This study was done to evaluate the relation between them in Indian school going children. Three hundred children of 7 to 10.5 years were recruited and their aerobic fitness was predicted using modified Harvard's step test (VO₂max) and 20 meter shuttle test (VO₂peak). The heart rate was monitored for 12 minutes post modifi...
متن کاملHeart rate recovery: validation and methodologic issues.
OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to validate the prognostic value of the drop in heart rate (HR) after exercise, compare it to other test responses, evaluate its diagnostic value and clarify some of the methodologic issues surrounding its use. BACKGROUND Studies have highlighted the value of a new prognostic feature of the treadmill test-rate of recovery of HR after exercise. These studi...

tivity Questionnaire (IPAQ). The study population could be matched with respect to physical activity using the IPAQ. The IPAQ version that we use in our studies is the short last 7-day recall questionnaire. This version consists of seven questions assessing the frequency and duration of participation in vigorous, moderate intensity and walking activity as well as the time spent sitting during a...

We read with great interest the article, entitled “Heart rate recovery may predict the presence of coronary artery disease” by Akyüz et al. (1) published in Anatolian J Cardiol 2014; 14: 351-6. They observed in a retrospective analysis that abnormal heart rate recovery at 1 min (HRR1) was associated with the presence of angiographically proven coronary artery disease. This study strengthens pre...
